The Metalworking Specialist serves as Grainger's authority in machining, welding, and grinding processes. This position involves conducting on-site evaluations aimed at minimizing customer expenses while enhancing operational efficiency through cutting-edge technologies and applications. The Metalworking Specialist collaborates closely with internal sales teams to provide valuable insights and expertise to our clientele.

Reporting to a Regional Metalworking Manager, you will maintain in-depth knowledge of trends within the manufacturing and maintenance sectors, identifying training opportunities and forecasts to adapt to evolving customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate clients on technological advancements and innovations while facilitating change at their sites.
  • Collaborate with Grainger sales teams and key suppliers to shape customer strategies and drive metalworking sales growth.
  • Conduct process and product evaluations for clients within metalworking applications.
  • Effectively document and present value propositions and cost savings to customers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales objectives for growth across metalworking products in the designated territory.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track sales data, customer interactions, and document cost savings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry or distribution sector.
  • Field sales experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience in managing both external and internal customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated success working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software or Salesforce is preferred.

A valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally are required.
