About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic multidiscipline team at M.C. Dean, Inc. This is a critical position that requires expertise in cybersecurity infrastructure design, implementation, and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed architecture and design of system and security management capabilities, analyzing cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, CMMC)
  • Research and evaluate technology options, testing and evaluating their functional, performance, security, and interoperability characteristics
  • Design and implement network and systems infrastructure, interconnections, and application configuration to enforce enterprise-wide access control, audit and accountability, data protection, system integrity, and other policies
  • Implement, configure, and administer key solution components, including network infrastructure, cybersecurity management application software, database stores, and other components
  • Plan, evaluate, and execute capacity optimization, updates, upgrades, and other lifecycle activities associated with the solution
  • Troubleshoot functional and performance problems
  • Create and maintain detailed and accurate system documentation, including design and configuration plans, design diagrams, task-oriented procedures, operations and maintenance plans, etc.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience performing comparable systems engineering, implementation, and support functions
  • Advanced knowledge of secure configuration benchmarks and hands-on experience in system hardening
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with configuration and administration of cybersecurity platforms, including endpoint security, data loss prevention, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and related
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows platform and services, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, virtual desktop infrastructure, application deployment frameworks and components, networking, and storage services, and their associated cybersecurity characteristics, logging, monitoring, and auditing capabilities
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with MS Azure and cloud services and technologies, including compute, database, storage, network virtualization, and security services
  • Working understanding of network infrastructure, concepts of operation, and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Syslog, etc.
  • Knowledge of specific network equipment (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper) and working experience with routing, switching, and firewall configuration is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills while working in a fast-paced, multidiscipline team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills
  • Proficiency with workflow and lifecycle management systems (e.g. Atlassian Jira)
  • Microsoft Certified Professional / Systems Engineer certification is strongly desired
  • Security+ or CISSP certification is strongly desired
