Substance Use Disorder Counselor for Thrive Behavioral Health

Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our Act Team at Thrive Behavioral Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide specialized services to clients who are chemically dependent and/or their significant others.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial substance abuse assessments and provide individual, group, and family substance abuse treatment and counseling.
- Coordinate referrals to other substance abuse treatment programs or facilities in the community/state.
- Provide chemical dependency consultation, education, and training to team personnel.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and document services consistent with Center standards.
- Coordinate discharge planning, follow-up, and aftercare.
- Monitor signs and symptoms of psychiatric functioning, medication regimen, and substance use.
- Assist in community networking and education.
- Provide assistance with income maintenance, living arrangements.
- Teach clients effective techniques for managing their medication as prescribed.
- Coordinate services within the Center as needed.
- Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Complete billing forms, logs, data collection forms, and clinical documentation in accordance with Center standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years of relevant substance abuse experience.
- CDP or working toward credentialing. LCDP preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
