Job Summary

Commonwealth Computer Research, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to manage the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of production systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with deployment technologies, such as Kubernetes, and strong knowledge of configuration management tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain development, testing, and production environments
  • Build and deploy automation, monitoring, and analysis solutions
  • Manage continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency
  • Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
  • Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship and active Top Secret security clearance, SCI eligible, and willing to take a CI polygraph
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and five years of related experience
  • Experience with deployment technologies, such as Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration
  • Experience with metrics monitoring and dashboards (Grafana)
  • Understanding of user access practices and security controls within a system
  • Understanding of system administration in various OS environments
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management tools
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Able to work extended hours as required
Desired Qualifications and Experience
  • Understanding of AWS services and cloud management
  • Experience executing against database technologies
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet)
  • Continuous integration processes and tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools
  • System monitoring and analysis
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community and DoD mission sets
  • CompTIA Security certification or willingness to get certified
