Salary
The starting compensation for this role based in Rochester ranges from $50,000 to $64,700, depending on relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced History Teacher who can join our team at Uncommon High School. As a key member of our department, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to design and deliver engaging lesson plans that promote critical thinking, analysis, and effective communication. Your expertise in World, US History, American Government, and Economics will be instrumental in preparing students for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate-level coursework.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement rigorous, student-centered lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Develop and facilitate engaging instructional strategies that promote active participation, discourse, and peer-to-peer debate
- Analyze and respond to trends in student work samples and assessments, using data-driven insights to inform instruction
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive learning environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development, coaching, and mentoring to enhance teaching practices and stay up-to-date with best practices in history education
