About the RoleThis ECEAP Lead Teacher position plays a vital role in developing and implementing programs that promote child development, learning, and growth. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with children, families, and colleagues to create a nurturing and supportive community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues through regular communication and updates on child progress.
- Lead assigned classroom activities, designing and implementing purposeful programming that meets the unique needs of each child.
- Maintain a safe and well-organized learning environment, adhering to ECEAP, Washington State DCYF Licensing, Early Achievers, and YMCA standards.
- Conduct ongoing observations and evaluations of individual children, supporting program records as needed.
- Engage with parents and caregivers through regular dialogue, family conferences, and connections to Y resources.
- Maintain accurate program records, site inventory, and required documentation to ensure a smooth operation.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and collaborative events to enhance professional growth and teamwork.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- An Early Childhood Education Certificate or willingness to obtain within 5 years.
- Previous experience working with children in diverse settings, with a focus on developmental and age-appropriate practices.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement engaging program activities that meet the needs of children.
- Meet essential qualifications, including a Negative TB test, MMR Vaccination, and completion of required trainings and certifications (e.g., Child Abuse Prevention, First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers Permit).
