The Role of a Medical Assistant
A Medical Assistant supports the provider team by performing duties such as preparing patients for healthcare visits, documenting vital signs, and assisting with examinations and treatments. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing Patients
- Documenting Vital Signs
- Assisting Providers
- Maintaining Supplies
- Cleaning Treatment Rooms
- Conducting Business in a Service-Oriented Manner
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Accredited Healthcare Program or Equivalent Experience
- Certifications per State Guidelines
- Nationally Recognized Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Preferred
- Strong Computer Skills and EMR Experience
