Job Summary

The Zone Maintenance Shop at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform daily inspections, general maintenance, and repairs of assigned buildings and equipment. This role requires a high level of customer service, effective communication, and a commitment to safety practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inspections, installations, general maintenance, and repairs of buildings and equipment
  • Respond to emergency situations and evaluate and correct defects
  • Assist lower-level facilities technicians as needed
  • Adhere to all safety practices and procedures
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
  • Attend meetings and properly complete documentation
  • Provide a high level of customer service and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervision
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in general maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card
  • Competency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.

Shift, hours, days, and/or location are subject to change based on operational need. May work overtime and be subject to 24-hour emergency call.

Will require the successful completion of a criminal background check and motor vehicle review. May require employee health evaluation and vaccinations.
