The State of Minnesota seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant/Customer Services Specialist Senior to provide advanced level administrative support to the Special Claims and Mandatory Coverage sections of the Special Compensation Fund (SCF) and other units within the Workers' Compensation Division and Department.

Salary

This position offers a competitive salary range of $21.90 - $29.65 per hour, which translates to an annual salary of $45,727 - $61,909.

Job Description

This senior-level position involves administering the insurance verification program, determining the validity of coverage, serving as an industry expert, utilizing various databases, and performing tasks such as typing, legal servicing of documents, file production, computer entry and modifications, data retrieval and printing of information, mail handling, filing, and photocopying.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to a variety of customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail and other written correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers and to read, explain, and interpret a variety of materials to exam candidates.
  • Word processing skills sufficient to draft and update procedure manuals.
  • MATH skills sufficient to perform basic calculations and assure proper fees are paid.
  • Data entry skills sufficient to read source documents and enter data in database and to compile, sort, and verify data accuracy before entering it.
  • Database management skills sufficient to enter and retrieve data and run daily reports to verify data for completeness, accuracy, and discrepancies.
