Production Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to oversee all casting plant activities and drive business objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring plant performance meets quality standards while maintaining a cost-effective operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example to prioritize safety and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct weekly operations meetings to discuss plant performance and KPIs.
  • Partner with process engineering to improve efficiency and yields.
  • Drive discipline operations to maintain proper shift handoffs, 5S, and tool cleanliness.
  • Maximize material yields through continuous improvement and streamlining.
  • Supervise, hire, retain, review, and discipline employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate workflow to balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale.
  • Flex labor to maintain on-time deliveries and cost standards.
  • Work with supervisors to ensure consistent quality of material.
  • Perform accident investigations and collaborate with scheduling to maintain proper inventory levels.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan action plans to achieve results.
  • Leadership skills to drive positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate problem resolution and positive relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to recommend policies and strategies.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and prioritize employee workloads.
  • Good quality orientation with attention to detail.
  • Ability to think analytically and find critical paths in uncommon situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or similar field.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a chemical processing plant is a plus.
