Job Summary

As a Procurement Specialist at Hendrickson Intl, you will be responsible for managing suppliers of routine common usage parts. Your key responsibilities will include negotiating price and commercial issues with suppliers, facilitating communication between Hendrickson and suppliers during the PPAP process, and executing MRP and JIT/KANBAN purchase orders to supply production and service requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare RFQs as needed and negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial issues with suppliers.
  • Maintain positive supplier relationships and develop and implement cost reduction programs and commodity strategies.
  • Interact with all Hendrickson departments to ensure a steady flow of materials.
  • Optimize on-hand inventory days against customer order fill performance of 95% or greater for commodities assigned.
  • Identify and analyze raw material requirements and place and track Purchase Orders with suppliers to fully support production and service demand.
  • Support the processing of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and communicate same to suppliers.
  • Prepare monthly activity and inventory reports and other reports as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Management, Operations, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in planning/purchasing in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Solid understanding and execution skills of MRP, KANBAN, JIT, FIFO.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to lead implementation teams.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position frequently.
  • Minimal need to move about inside the office or production designated area.
  • Frequent movement of hands, wrists, and fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.
