Key Responsibilities
As a Civil Transportation Specialist, you will be expected to:
- Contribute as a vital member of a highway and roadway design team for medium to large-scale projects while also managing smaller projects independently.
- Prepare or supervise roadway and highway design tasks adhering to local or AASHTO standards, including horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layouts, sight distance assessments, interchange configurations, roadway drainage (including hydraulic reports), and right-of-way plans.
- Oversee the development of various contract plans, specifications, and estimates, which may include roadway sections, alignment/right-of-way plans, temporary erosion control plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans, and traffic control plans.
- Assist in managing larger projects or take charge of smaller projects.
- Help in preparing project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Manage daily communications (both verbal and written) with clients, support and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, draft reports and technical memoranda, coordinate with subconsultants, ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget, and maintain client satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- A minimum of 5 years of design experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- A commitment to actively participate in our employee-owned culture is essential.
- Experience with InRoads, MicroStation, GEOPAK, or other relevant design software.
