Pediatric Transport Specialist

At University Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Transport Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide respiratory care and safe transport to critically ill and injured pediatric patients via fixed wing, rotor wing, and ground ambulance.

As a Pediatric Transport Specialist, you will utilize critical thinking skills and established guidelines to function as a mobile intensive care unit. You will serve as a clinical role model, resource, and mentor for colleagues.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Respiratory therapist with a minimum of two years of recent pediatric critical care experience
  • Required BLS, PALS, and ACLS (provider or instructor) certifications
  • NRP (provider or instructor) certification required within 3 months of hire
  • Completion of a nationally recognized trauma course required within six months of hire

Licensure requirements include:

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license with the Texas Medical Board
