Park Maintenance Chief III

Job Summary:
The Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking a highly skilled Park Maintenance Chief III to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities and assets. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of maintenance staff, including sector Maintenance Chiefs and district-wide specialists.
- Coordinate with other District Program Managers and the District Superintendent to ensure the overall maintenance, development, and operation of district facilities and assets.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs, including Water/Wastewater, Roads and Trails, Preservation and Restoration, Property Inventory, MAXIMO, Fleet Management and Maintenance, Maintenance Safety, Pest Management, Construction Management, Waste Diversion, and ADA Compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Valid California Drivers License (CDL).
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Working Conditions:
This position is designated as telework eligible office centered. The work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Outdoor work is common. Typical work activities involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Special Requirements:
