Job Description and Duties

As a Hydroelectric Plant Technician with the Department of Water Resources, you will perform routine and basic tasks on control, communication, electrical, and mechanical equipment in connection with the operation and maintenance of SWP generating/pumping plants, switchyards, water conveyance, and facilities.

You will assist with analyzing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing hardware and software failures on equipment, systems, and related components. Additionally, you will assist with performing physical installation and testing of equipment.

This is a sensitive position and is subject to substance abuse testing set forth in California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) Regulations. The position has frequent access to areas designated as containing critical cyber assets in accordance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability standards, and therefore, a satisfactory background check is required prior to appointment and at least every seven years thereafter.

Special Requirements

This position requires a satisfactory background check and adherence to CalHR Regulations and NERC reliability standards.
