This position requires the overall inspection, preparation, receipt, and issuance of sterile processing equipment and supplies to the Operating Room and inpatient units. The successful candidate will perform technical tasks integral to the support of clinical operations of the Operating Room.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, prepare, and issue instruments, trays, and other equipment according to policies and procedures.
- Inspect and prepare surgical items for sterilization.
- Load and operate washers, dryers, ultrasonic cleaners, sterilizers, and cart wash machines.
- Follow established policy and procedure for building instrument sets according to count sheets.
- Anticipate emergency or unusual circumstances associated with equipment needs and supply availability.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year 6 months to 1 year related experience.
- Certification as a registered central service technician (CRCST).
- Moderate computer ability.
- Communication Skills Training.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
This position is located in a fast-paced hospital environment and requires the ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
