Job Overview
Are you prepared to elevate your career in the automotive sector? Our bustling automotive body shop is in search of a dedicated Automotive Office/Store Manager to lead and inspire our skilled team of professionals.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of effective management roles, with a minimum of three years of experience, and a strong commitment to achieving success with integrity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily operations, promptly address customer complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction metrics are achieved.
2. Recruit, hire, and train service managers, parts managers, and estimators to meet profit objectives.
3. Participate in management meetings and cultivate positive working relationships with owners, managers, and staff to establish effective processes.
4. Implement growth strategies that align with automotive group goals by thoroughly assessing profit and loss.
5. Forecast departmental goals and objectives and strive to achieve them.
6. Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate the performance of all body shop personnel.
7. Prepare and manage an annual operating budget for the body shop.
8. Direct and schedule the work of all body shop employees.
9. Establish and maintain positive relationships with insurance adjusters.
10. Foster and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
11. Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
12. Provide accurate estimates on costs and time required for body repairs.
13. Follow up on parts department orders to ensure parts availability.
14. Oversee the progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring adherence to proper repair and safety protocols.
15. Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize comebacks by conducting periodic inspections of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
16. Address customer complaints immediately and in accordance with established guidelines.
17. Ensure all documentation is complete, legible, and properly filed or distributed to the relevant parties.
Control accounts receivable for body repair work.
18. Stay informed about and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA standards.
19. Ensure the availability and proper use of safety equipment.
20. Facilitate and/or conduct technical training and send employees to relevant training programs as needed.
21. Monitor the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other significant assets to ensure long-term functionality and value.
22. Ensure that work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean.
23. Maintain a professional appearance.
24. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory; a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
A minimum of three years of experience in a sales manager or general manager role within a dealership or auto group is essential.
Possess a valid state-issued driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record to operate dealership-owned vehicles.
Strong communication skills, a proven leadership track record, and the ability to interpret profit and loss statements are critical for success.
