Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Anesthesiology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and management of acute pain services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inpatient consultations and coordinate care with interdisciplinary services and providers.
  • Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities.
  • Utilize multimodal analgesics, regional anesthesia, Ketamine and Lidocaine infusions, and implantable pain control devices to manage patient pain.
  • Collaborate with residents, students, and nurses to provide education and training on pain management.
  • Conduct patient assessments and complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
  • Diagnose medical conditions, administer medications or treatments, and perform minor surgery as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient coding, medical reports, and inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
  • Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure smooth patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
  • Act as a mentor to new staff and/or physician assistant students.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
  • Professional image and ability to earn the confidence of others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • HIPAA compliance at all times.
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner licensure upon hire.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification upon hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
