Job Summary

The Activities Aide - MCH role at MaineHealth is responsible for creating and implementing engaging programs and activities that enhance the lives of residents. This position requires a strong understanding of the residents' interests, values, and beliefs to develop a diverse and adapted program offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs and activities that promote resident engagement and well-being.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and healthcare teams to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Design and deliver activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: Coursework in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Sociology, Education, Social Work, or other healthcare field preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in a clinical setting working with the elderly preferred, with experience working with people with dementia in a residential setting highly valued.
