Certified Nurse Anesthetist

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a pivotal role in delivering anesthesia and pain management services in a collaborative healthcare environment. This advanced practice registered nurse operates under the supervision of physicians and works alongside a diverse team of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Practice: Provide anesthesia care across various settings for a wide range of procedures, including surgical, obstetrical, and pain management.
- Equipment Proficiency: Utilize and interpret data from anesthesia equipment to maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Communication: Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Patient Care: Demonstrate the ability to assess and address the unique needs of patients across different age groups and acuity levels.
- Infection Control: Implement infection prevention techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is required.
Licensure:
- Possession of a current Texas or compact RN license.
- Active Texas/Compact APRN License.
- Certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
- Current certifications in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is mandatory.
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program is required.
