Position Summary:
Carolina Poly, Inc. is actively looking for a dedicated Safety and Environmental Specialist to enhance our team. Our company is known for producing a variety of polyethylene products, including high-quality trash bags and construction films.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations pertinent to a manufacturing setting, including OSHA (29 CFR), EPA (40 CFR), and TCEQ standards.

2. Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of the company's safety and environmental protocols through regular audits, providing actionable recommendations based on findings.

3. Develop and sustain comprehensive safety and environmental initiatives tailored to the company's needs.

4. Gather, analyze, and maintain critical data to support effective safety and environmental programs.

5. Offer regulatory guidance and recommendations to management regarding safety, health, and environmental matters.

6. Complete and file necessary federal, state, and local regulatory documents, including but not limited to Tier II, TRI, and annual waste summaries.

7. Oversee the management and coordination of hazardous waste disposal, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

8. Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant federal, state, and local regulations across all plant locations, including a solid grasp of required programs such as lockout/tagout, hazard communication, hearing conservation, emergency action/evacuation, fire prevention/protection, ergonomics, machine guarding/labeling, hazardous materials, SDS database, fall protection/prevention, confined spaces, combustible dust, bloodborne pathogens, respiratory protection, Homeland Security, SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous waste, wastewater, air emissions, and more.

9. Keep precise and complete records of training sessions, inspections, audits, and all necessary regulatory documentation.


Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Safety/Environmental sector, ideally within a manufacturing context.

2. A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or a related field is essential.

3. Practical knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and EPA 40 CFR regulations.

4. Proficiency in basic software applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
