We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Worker to join our team at Stroger Hospital. As a Crisis Worker, you will play a critical role in connecting clients in crisis with the appropriate level of mental health care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform risk assessments in an emergency room setting to determine appropriate disposition and formulate a working diagnosis.
- Make recommendations for treatment and use clinical judgment to make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
- Complete documentation to facilitate patient transfer to inpatient facilities, including USARF and Petition.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, including Emergency Room Physicians, nurses, and psychiatry staff.
- Use de-escalation skills to assist in crisis interventions and provide psychoeducation and bedside interventions to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Assist inpatient psychiatry teams on medical floors with assessments and linkage to inpatient care.
- Gather collateral information to assess the need for service and make recommendations for treatment.
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a closely related field.
- Licensed Professional in the Healing Arts (LPHA), such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), preferred.
- Experience working with persons diagnosed with mental illness preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terms and ability to communicate with medical staff strongly preferred.
- Competitive pay - Base Salary: $58,400 annually, subject to increase with applicable experience.
