Position Description
7a-7:30p / PRN
We are looking for a skilled ICU RN.
- Our facility is in search of a dedicated RN with a passion for cardiac care to join our 21-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU), providing care for complex cardiac patients. The patient population primarily consists of high-acuity pre-surgery cases (including cath lab, heart failure, stents, balloon pumps, Impellas, etc.), focusing on cardiogenic shock and interventional cardiac patients, along with a mix of medical patients with cardiac issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- 24 months of recent nursing experience within the last five years or completion of a re-entry nursing program.
- Must possess a valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the appropriate Licensing Board.
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications required.
Job Responsibilities
- Competent clinician with extensive experience in patient care, possessing a solid understanding of the specific patient population.
- Regularly applies acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to adapt to clinical changes.
- Capable of implementing the Synergy Model for Care in practice, personalizing care for each patient and family.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues and a strong advocate for patients and families.
- Consistently communicates effectively and respectfully with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
- Provides safe, reliable, and effective care to a patient population independently, utilizing the nursing process.
- Demonstrates advanced assessment skills.
- Recognizes the influence of nursing care on patient outcomes and acknowledges personal performance limitations while requiring minimal assistance.
- Accurately documents the nursing process in the appropriate format (e.g., electronic records, clinical pathways, charts).
- Independently plans and implements patient care, incorporating patient and family input and goals.
- Evaluates patient responses to planned care and adjusts care plans as necessary.
- Identifies learning needs of patients and families, making recommendations to appropriate resources.
- Integrates the AACN Synergy Model into clinical practice.
Additional Responsibilities
Physical Requirements: Medium-Heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs), carrying objects up to 35 lbs, occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close visual work (computers, typing, reading, writing). Physical demands may vary based on assigned work area and tasks.
Environmental Factors: Conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks, including exposure to blood-borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals, communicable diseases, and other environmental factors.
