About the Role

The Senior Portfolio Manager supports the Middle Market Commercial Banking team, analyzing financial statements and calculating critical credit metrics for commercial businesses with revenues ranging from $20MM to $500M.

As the primary point of contact for client relations, you'll maintain a high level of client responsiveness and work closely with the relationship manager to manage an assigned portfolio of commercial customers.

You'll provide support and oversight of reporting for portfolio management, coordinate financial statement reviews, and monitor the portfolio for early warning signs of financial weakness or other risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of commercial customers in partnership with the relationship manager
  • Provide support and oversight of reporting for portfolio management
  • Coordinate collection and review of financial statements, tax returns, and covenant compliance certificates
  • Monitor the portfolio for early warning signs of financial weakness or other risks
  • Prepare credit packages for annual reviews, renewals, and loan requests
  • Structure and underwrite complex commercial loan transactions
  • Provide credit recommendations to the appropriate level of credit administration
  • Review and negotiate loan documentation
  • Serve as contact for internal audits, loan review, and regulatory exams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years' commercial credit experience, including experience in corporate banking, middle market, or CRE
  • Thorough understanding of risk management and credit mitigants
  • Knowledge of risk ratings analysis, corporate finance, and research
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish client relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Familiarity with Moody's analytics
