Job Overview

Essel is seeking a skilled Soil Quality Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing grading observations, compaction testing, and special inspections on soils, aggregates, and asphalt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct grading observations to ensure compliance with project documents.
  • Perform compaction testing on soils, aggregates, and asphalt to ensure quality control.
  • Provide special inspections per additional inspection certifications in accordance with approved project documents.
  • Document project grading activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide sampling and Quality Control of concrete and/or grout to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers, clients, consultants, contractors, and potential clients.
  • Nuclear gauge usage certification.
  • ACI Field Technician Grade 1 license.
  • ICC Soils Inspector License is a plus.
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
