Role Summary

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring that all cleaning operations are executed efficiently and to the highest standards. This role includes training and guiding staff, maintaining cleanliness, and addressing guest needs to enhance overall satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the housekeeping team, ensuring accountability for performance and service quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and service areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Implement training programs for staff to ensure adherence to housekeeping protocols and procedures.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring all areas are adequately stocked and organized.
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest experiences.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to housekeeping operations.
  • Provide support to staff in completing daily tasks and addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting a culture of excellence within the team.
Additional Functions

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Housekeeping Manager may be required to:
  • Assist with guest inquiries and provide information as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work indoors for extended periods, with moderate temperature control.
  • Capable of standing and moving for up to four hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 45 lbs and push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Requires good physical mobility and the ability to perform various cleaning tasks.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Leadership abilities and a commitment to customer service.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with hotel management systems.
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
