Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Community Transit. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, park and ride facilities, bus stops, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system failures and alarms.
  • Work safely and independently to perform a variety of skilled and unskilled duties related to troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of professional communication, appearance, conduct, and customer service with other department staff, external customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Prioritize work tasks and assignments efficiently.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules as recommended by department procedures and/or equipment manufacturer specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain written and electronic documentation efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide guidance and training for other facilities maintenance employees when necessary.
Requirements
  • Five years of facilities and/or commercial building maintenance experience.
  • Journey level skills and/or vocational training and/or certifications in facilities related maintenance and repair.
  • Valid Washington State Driver License at the time of hire, with an excellent driving record.
  • Formal training and/or certification in one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical distribution systems, or low voltage electrical/electro-mechanical controls.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience preparing and maintaining information efficiently and accurately in the CMMS system.
  • Experience in at least two of the following specific trade skills: plumbing, construction (carpentry), welding, sheet metal fabrication, or painting.
Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors or outdoors in all kinds of weather and conditions, including working at heights, working around fumes, chemicals, and grease, and high noise levels. You will be required to routinely lift and carry equipment and materials weighing more than 75 pounds and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
