Transaction Management Specialist Position

The Transaction Management Specialist III role at Citigroup Inc. requires a non-attorney professional to represent the Legal Function in providing Transaction Management advice and support to Citi's businesses and functions.

This position supports the firm's global Markets derivatives business by providing risk and controls governance for trade agreement negotiations, requiring a pragmatic, proactive professional with a thorough understanding of the business covered by the team and its products and services.

Key responsibilities include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and required documentation for the relevant Citi business, conducting business negotiations in a timely, thorough, and efficient manner, engaging with institutional clients and their internal/external counsel, and collaborating with Citi's first line, legal, second line, and other internal constituents during negotiations.

Additional duties involve integrating in-depth knowledge of an area to address queries from Citi businesses and clients regarding the contractual documentation, actively initiating communication with unresponsive customers, maintaining detailed records of the negotiations, and staying abreast of new and changing regulatory and legal issues and industry initiatives.

A strong understanding of contractual terms and legal implications of Citi's documentation is essential, as well as excellent communication and diplomacy skills to provide direction to Citi businesses in discussions on various contractual provisions, including risks of modifying or amending such terms and provisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with some experience working in an in-house legal role within financial services
  • Contractual and documentation negotiation experience in a large institutional setting
  • Proven record of completing complex documentation within tight time deadlines
  • Ability to manage complex documentation with organization and detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills, as well as the ability to interact and communicate effectively with Senior management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • In-depth knowledge of legal customs and practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry

The salary for this position ranges from $69,050.00 to $96,350.00 per year, based on location and qualifications.
