Role Responsibilities:

The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will take on a 'hands-on' leadership role within the HPE HPC System Management platform team. This position entails:

  • Driving the development of new features, ensuring maintenance, upgrades, security, performance, reliability, and scalability of our existing cloud-based (Kubernetes) deployments.
  • Participating in the design and implementation of next-generation cloud-based HPC System Management platform components.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Extensive software expertise in cloud technologies, container security, authentication, authorization, microservices architecture, and cloud storage solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with secure and reliable software systems, ensuring continuous operation.
  • Strong familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD/CT pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge in software and security domains, particularly in distributed systems and REST-based services.
  • Proficiency in software development, actively engaging in writing production-level code.
  • Ability to work independently while mentoring remote team members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring peers.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and microservices in a production setting.
  • Strong background in deploying and managing services across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack.
  • Experience in designing and deploying secure APIs using a microservices architecture.
  • Capability to integrate and troubleshoot third-party cloud technologies within a Kubernetes-based system management platform.
  • Research skills to explore new cloud technologies that align with future design requirements.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or Go.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Ability to create and update technical documentation for features and functionalities.
  • Willingness to assist in triaging issues for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to collaborative development practices and sound software engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Typically, 8+ years of relevant experience.
