We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Assistant to join our team at SNCH. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will provide essential support to our RNs in delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Assist RNs in delivering selected aspects of patient care, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and safety.
- Provide technical skills required for patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Respond quickly to psychiatric emergencies and security codes on the unit, demonstrating your ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Collaborate with the RN to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting positive outcomes for our patients.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in behavioral health care.
- High school graduation or equivalent required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
As a Psychiatric Assistant at SNCH, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
