Comprehensive training will be provided to all new hires.

Compensation Structure

  • Level I H23A - $37, with Full State Employee Benefits
  • Level II H23B - $40, with Full State Employee Benefits
  • Level III H23C - $43, with Full State Employee Benefits

Candidates holding a Master's Degree in Social Work will receive a salary enhancement of an additional 5%.

On-call roles will be eligible for an extra bonus ranging from $100 to $150 biweekly, contingent on responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications

Child Welfare Advocate, Level I

  • Completion of 90 credit hours from an accredited institution;
  • OR 3 years of relevant experience in child welfare;
  • OR a combination of education and experience.

Child Welfare Advocate, Level II

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline;
  • OR one year of experience as a Child Welfare Advocate.

Child Welfare Advocate, Level III

  • A Master's degree;
  • OR a Bachelor's degree with one year of experience as a Child Welfare Advocate;
  • OR two years of experience as a Child Welfare Advocate.

Key Responsibilities

This position may encompass responsibilities in various Child Welfare Programs.

Child Protective Services (CPS)

*Conducts investigations into claims of child abuse or neglect.

*Ensures the safety of children while providing support to families facing challenges that may jeopardize child safety.

Family Centered Services (FCS)

*Aims to preserve and enhance the protective capabilities of parents to maintain children in their homes, focusing on improving safety for both children and families to avert unnecessary out-of-home placements.

Permanency Planning (PP)

*Delivers services to families, engaging family members in their treatment plans.

*Arranges suitable placements for children that cater to their medical, educational, and physical needs.

*Facilitates the return of children to their homes as soon as their needs can be adequately met, and devises a permanent plan when home return is unfeasible.

All New Employees will undergo the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program

  • Learn about treatment and preventive services;
  • Conduct assessments of children and families during visits to placements;
  • Refer families and children to community services;
  • Participate in investigations of child abuse and neglect, preparing case reports and documentation;
  • Attend court hearings and provide testimony;
  • Collaborate with the District Attorney and other legal representatives, as well as tribal partners, regarding child protection efforts, family reunification, or other permanent solutions for children;
  • Provide direct services to children in placements;
  • And perform other assigned duties.

Travel Requirements - Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain the necessary car insurance. State vehicles will be available for fulfilling job responsibilities.
