Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant is a vital member of the HopeHealth team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist medical providers in patient evaluations and treatment, including taking vital signs, performing diagnostic procedures, and lab work.
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow and room turnover, ensuring a smooth and timely experience for patients.
  • Perform data entry tasks for reporting purposes, utilizing data systems to assist with chart preparation and patient information.
  • Respond to phone calls in a timely manner, providing excellent communication and customer service.
  • Participate in training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of medical equipment and procedures, including vaccine administration and immunizations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Schedule appointments and provide education to patients and their families, promoting health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare entities, departments, and guests to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited school.
  • National CMA certification.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and guests.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, policies, procedures, regulations, and protocols.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing situations and priorities.

Physical Requirements:

Adequate hearing and vision to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted, with frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
