Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at North Alabama Bone and Joint. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination and treatment
  • Take detailed medical histories and update electronic medical records
  • Assist physicians with procedures and treatments
  • Schedule patient follow-up appointments and maintain accurate records
  • Perform associated clerical tasks, including scheduling and filing
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical assistant certification required; nursing degree or allied health professional preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of orthopedic terminology and anatomy
Work Environment

This role requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds or greater may be required. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
