We strive to provide high-quality health and human services to our clients, and we are seeking a skilled Patient Engagement Specialist to join our team.

Role Overview:

The Patient Engagement Specialist will be responsible for working with patients assigned to our health center's panel, community residents who lack access to healthcare and health insurance. You will provide outreach and in-reach to these individuals, educate them about health coverage options, and help them enroll in health insurance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outreach and in-reach to patients assigned to our panel; engage patients into care through education and booking of appointments.
  • Work with enrollment specialists and other social work staff to provide enrollment assistance for uninsured children and adults to access subsidized, low-cost, and free health insurance programs.
  • Provide structured patient education on health coverage, access to primary care, and offer assistance for enrolled individuals.
  • Build relationships with local partner organizations to increase patient penetration into the community health system of care.
  • Attend community events to promote coverage options and the mission and services of our organization.

Requirements:

  • Oral and written communication skills at a level typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree program in public health, health education, communications, or related program.
  • Knowledge of the health and human services infrastructure, health insurance programs, and public coverage options.
  • Ability to effectively develop and nurture relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Ability to enthusiastically communicate with potential enrollees.

Salary and Benefits:

Estimated salary range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 403(b), health insurance, vision and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement accounts, tuition reimbursement up to $1,000 annually, an Employee Assistance Program, generous vacation, sick, and personal days, and up to 12 available paid holidays for full-time employees and some benefits are included for part-time employees.
