This role is an hourly position within our manufacturing facility. The individual in this position will be tasked with the production, assembly, or preparation of products according to specified tolerances and requirements as outlined by customer orders.

Our operational hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess adequate reading and writing skills to comprehend work order instructions, safety regulations, and prepare production reports as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols concerning machine operation and proper guarding.
  • Demonstrate sufficient visual acuity (with corrective measures) to read instructions, differentiate colors, operate machinery, and visually inspect produced parts.
  • Exhibit sufficient manual dexterity to operate machinery effectively.
  • Set up jobs according to work order specifications and produce the required quantity of parts.
  • Ensure parts are produced within the established tolerances and specifications.
  • Responsible for routine machine maintenance and maintaining a tidy work area.
  • Maintain simple reports on managed work orders and quantities produced.
  • Encourage the sharing of innovative ideas to enhance processes.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and consistent attendance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate various types of equipment to complete specific phases of the production cycle.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for process improvement.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent twisting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, walking, and standing for over 8 hours daily.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or carry weights ranging from 1 to 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Ability to work in a production environment that may exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit and be humid during summer months.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Capability to thrive in a high-pressure, challenging environment.
  • Willingness to learn to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and cutting torches.
  • Ability to operate computers integral to the manufacturing process.
  • Willingness to cross-train in various production areas.
  • For full-time positions, a commitment to work 40 hours per week with potential for mandatory or voluntary overtime.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts if required.
  • Ability to frequently shift focus as needed.
  • Effective communication skills with senior management, inter-department personnel, and fellow production employees.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

PREFERRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in the garage door industry.
  • Experience in other manufacturing settings.
