Tooling Specialist

MalaceHR is seeking a skilled Tooling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting tooling activities to improve performance, reduce costs, and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tool Monitoring: Ensure optimal tool performance and condition at the machine and preset areas.
- Usage Review: Optimize tool usage and sustain supply to minimize waste and costs.
- Order Coordination: Collaborate with Customer Service to manage urgent replacement tool orders.
- Problem Resolution: Serve as the primary contact for tool-related issues in manufacturing.
- Resource Coordination: Address safety, quality, and cost issues related to tooling.
- Customer Support: Provide assistance with machining and tooling-related challenges.
- Budget Management: Oversee tooling budgets and report on performance.
- Parameter Recommendations: Suggest changes to optimize machining processes.
- Improvement Initiatives: Lead tooling improvements with necessary approvals.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with supervisors and peers.
- Cost Reduction: Develop plans to reduce tooling costs through efficiencies.
- Tool Trials: Conduct trials following approval and established practices.
- Drawing Updates: Update mechanical drawings related to tooling.
- Compliance: Adhere to internal and external procedures.
- Meeting Participation: Attend scheduled operations and problem-solving meetings.
- Reporting: Document Non-Conformances and Continuous Improvements.
- Team Collaboration: Support cross-functional teams to achieve plant goals.
- Safety Standards: Uphold safety and housekeeping standards.
- Incident Reporting: Report near misses and cooperate with investigations.

- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Experience: Manufacturing experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in problem-solving.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate measuring and production equipment.
- Material Knowledge: Understanding of metallic properties.
- Collaboration: Ability to work independently and with teams.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while working.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing facility that may be temperature-controlled.
