We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Saint Michael's Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform computer entry, filing, and telephone communication duties
- Demonstrate good telephone etiquette and greet patients and visitors in a polite and friendly manner
- Process pathology, microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank specimens
- Stock and order routine supplies
- Keep storage areas, trays, centrifuges, and collection areas clean
- Process or place specimens on laboratory instruments in accordance with established policy and procedures
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Minimum 1-year clinical laboratory experience performing similar job functions preferred
- State Certified as CPT I or CPT II if the laboratory is located in a state where required
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred
