Job Summary
This position provides administrative and fiscal support to the Commonwealth of Virginia, working independently with general direction from the Unit Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service and administrative support to unit faculty and staff, handling administrative, fiscal, and business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to unit faculty and staff, including preparing and processing purchasing, accounting, and travel reimbursements.
- Manage fixed assets and key control records, maintaining accurate and timely expense reports.
- Oversee budget reports and reconcile monthly reconciliations for the unit.
- Assist with grant-related paperwork and logistics, and assist with writing, editing, and disseminating communication documents and posts.
- Perform technical duties such as reviewing and processing procurement transactions, and processing accounts receivable and payable transactions with accuracy.
Requirements
- Training/experience in performing tasks that support the operation of a professional office environment.
- Demonstrated computer skills in word processing applications, database management, electronic spreadsheets, and the internet.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience managing time effectively for prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Experience performing technical duties such as reviewing and processing procurement transactions, and ability to perform monthly reconciliations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous administrative support experience, with demonstrated experience maintaining accounts and personnel records.
- Ability to comply with policies and procedures with little supervision, and strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience with Excel databases, Banner, Quicken, and an understanding of Commonwealth of Virginia policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with grant management, and experience in a Cooperative Extension, college, or university setting.
Working Conditions
This position is a regular appointment, with a salary range of $35,438 - $43,000.
