Job Description:

As a Field Worker I at Johnson County, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to maintenance, construction, and custodial work. This may include landscaping, repairing equipment, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Key Tasks:

  • Maintenance of grounds, buildings, and equipment
  • Performance of tasks that require independent judgment
  • Custodial duties, including cleaning and organization
  • Collaboration with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives

Requirements:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent
  2. Six months of custodial/maintenance experience or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  3. Valid Class A CDL with Air Brake Endorsement or obtainable within one year and insurable under county liability coverage
  4. Iowa Department of Agriculture Applicator Pesticide Certification or the ability to attain certification within one year of hire
  5. Pass county background check

Benefits:

Starting pay is $24.09-$28.90/hour, plus an excellent benefits package.
