We are currently seeking a qualified Land Manager to join our team in Dallas. This full-time position is integral to our ongoing projects and initiatives in the carbon capture sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain relationships with external land administration service providers to ensure accurate tracking of lease agreements and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct data entry and review of contracts and leases within the land management database.
  • Analyze carbon capture agreements and land title documents to determine ownership interests, resolve title issues for drilling operations, and maintain accurate company ownership records in internal systems.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Legal departments to ensure accurate revenue tracking and partnership billing based on updated ownership information.
  • Work closely with Geology and Engineering teams to evaluate potential acquisitions and enhance existing operations.
  • Support business development efforts in designated regions.
  • Prepare budgets and review lease agreements, option payments, and amendments related to CCUS leases.
  • Negotiate, draft, and finalize acquisition agreements while managing internal processes for title document organization, internal title transactions, and due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with external contacts to gather information and identify available opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an in-house Landman, with a preference for candidates familiar with the Gulf Coast region.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, ideally in Petroleum Land Management or a related discipline.
  • Advanced degrees such as JD or MBA are highly regarded but not mandatory.
  • Experience in conducting due diligence for onshore leasing and asset acquisitions.
  • Familiarity with Texas and Louisiana regulations and statutes relevant to the onshore land industry.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies such as the Texas General Land Office and Louisiana Department of Natural Resources is advantageous.
  • Proficient title researcher with strong negotiation skills and the ability to interpret title abstracts effectively.
