Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Veterinary Practice Manager to join our team at Priority Pet Urgent Care. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all office administration procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate office administration procedures, including ordering, inventory management, and scheduling.
  • Train and develop staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new staff members, ensuring they fit within our hospital's culture and meet our needs.
  • Market our hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community, identifying and attending relevant local and regional events.
  • Resolve informal employee complaints, provide explanations of hospital personnel policies and procedures, and maintain effective employee-management communication.
  • Work collaboratively with all team members to ensure that your actions support the hospital, doctors, and practice philosophy.
  • Ensure accurate and permanent records of patient information, including knowledge of hospital procedures and veterinary terminology.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering pet owners' questions and addressing their concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Establish and maintain inventory control systems, ensuring adequate stocks of supplies are available and reviewing best prices for all products purchased.
  • Manage and implement hospital policies, including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA.
  • Ensure payroll is completed and submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Establish good relationships with vendors to receive the best support for our hospital.
  • Promptly notify the appropriate veterinary staff of emergency cases.
  • Interview and train office staff candidates as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital.
  • Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator.
  • Highly organized and possess computer skills.
  • Self-starter with a desire to continue advancing knowledge and skillset.
  • Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital needs.
