Responsibilities:

  • Medical Decision Making: Serve as the site expert medical authority, making decisions based on written directives, legal requirements, precedent, CDC guidelines, and previous experience.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Regularly consult with physicians providing non-occupational and occupational medical care and rehabilitation for employees.
  • Return to Work Evaluation: Assist managers and workers in evaluating return to work criteria and decisions.
  • COVID-19 Response: Field calls related to COVID-19 and return to work.
  • Medical Record Keeping: Create medical records, including return to work notes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing Program.
  • Licensure: State License required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience in Occupational Health Nursing, medical assessment, emergency medical care, clinic work, and/or public health nursing.
  • Certification: Licensed to practice nursing in the state of North Carolina. Certification via the American Board of Occupational Health Nursing COHN-S OR COHN is preferred.
  • Skills: Occupational health experience, computer skills for electronic medical records entry, Excel spreadsheet skills, and phone skills.
