Job Overview:

The Import Coordinator is responsible for managing the receipt of incoming shipments and ensuring compliance with customs regulations.

This role also involves coordinating the logistics necessary for transporting goods to the final consignee/BCO.

Compensation:
$26 - $31 per hour Benefits: Health insurance, Dental insurance, Vision insurance, Paid Time Off, Retirement Plan (401k)

Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate import shipments from the point of arrival
  • Arrange for pickup and delivery for inland transport
  • Monitor shipments to confirm they reach their destination
  • Calculate rates and convert pricing as needed
  • Obtain and generate quotes for shipments while identifying the most efficient transportation methods
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, best practices, and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain communication with customers and carriers/vendors
  • Address and resolve import-related issues
  • Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the following:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not mandatory
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an import role
  • 2 years of experience in the logistics or shipping sector
  • Knowledge of global supply chain processes is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Capable of managing pressure and meeting deadlines
