About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Personal Financial Services Representative to join our team at Gesa Credit Union. As a key member of our branch team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional member service, solving problems, and deepening member relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide exceptional member service to all members, ensuring a positive and personalized experience.
  2. Solve problems and take ownership of member concerns, providing prompt resolutions and follow-up as needed.
  3. Have a core understanding of financial literacy, products, and services, and be able to converse with members in a clear and concise manner.
  4. Offer appropriate products and services to deepen member relationships and refer to other team members as needed.
  5. Make outbound calls to members to establish, grow, and nurture member relationships.
  6. Ensure branch equipment is always working properly and escalate non-repairable issues to leadership.
  7. Assist non-members with establishing membership and accurately take consumer lending applications.
  8. Review credit reports for concerns and obtain approvals and submit loan documentation.
  9. Close loans and effectively communicate with members regarding next steps.
  10. Discuss IRAs and HSAs with members and non-members and meet predetermined goals.
  11. Process international and domestic wire requests.
  12. Act as a Notary Public and perform notarial services in accordance with state regulations and credit union policies.
  13. Observe and monitor cash activity to ensure the branch and team members are following established cash limits.
  14. Open consumer deposit accounts and perform consumer account maintenance.
  15. Place cash and supply orders, balance vault cash, and maintain ATMs.
  16. Review and process overrides/approvals within authority while minimizing risk.
  17. Mentor and help train new Member Service Associates (MSAs).
  18. Assist leadership with branch certifications, cash drawer audits, cash drawer overages, and OFAC reports.
  19. Fluidly transition between tasks as an MSA or Sr. MSA.
  20. Perform transactions and service requests on member accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
  21. Accurately follow all cash handling procedures and balance your cash drawer at the end of every day.
  22. Issue, record, and file monetary instruments and reports in accordance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
  23. Assist members with Digital Banking enrollment, navigation, resets, and maintenance.
  24. Assist members with complex and sensitive fraud disputes.
About You

We are looking for a professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who can make sound decisions that minimize risk in a timely manner. You should be able to ask open-end and clarifying questions to understand member needs and deepen relationships. You should also display professional social skills to relate effectively to members, the public, colleagues, and all levels of leadership.

Qualifications
  1. High School Degree (or equivalent) required.
  2. Sales/relationship building experience required.
  3. Cash handling experience preferred.
  4. Notary Public.
  5. At least one year of customer service experience preferred.
  6. Demonstrate and support credit union values and service standards.
  7. Attend and engage in community events on behalf of the credit union.
  8. Maintain confidentiality, control risk, and lead operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and ethics.
  10. Report for work on time and maintain a schedule of regular attendance.
  11. Some travel may be required.
  12. Proficient with varying levels of technology.
