1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION - POSITION: RETAIL OPERATIONS LEADER

BASIC FUNCTION:
i.

The primary role of the Retail Operations Leader is to ensure that the organization's policies and directives are implemented at the retail level and that the goals set for the store are achieved.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
a.

The leader is appointed by the supervisor of retail operations with the endorsement of the retail operations manager and reports directly to the supervisor of retail operations.


b. Reporting to the leader are sales associates, cashiers, visual merchandisers, and other retail personnel.

AUTHORITY:
a.

The leader receives authority from the supervisor of retail operations and is granted the full authority necessary to oversee the activities of the store within established company policies.


b.

The leader has authority over all retail staff and the power to delegate responsibilities as needed to ensure efficient operations of the store.


SPECIFIC DUTIES:
a.

The responsibilities of the retail operations leader include, but are not limited to the following:

i.

Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with all retail personnel to ensure the achievement of operational objectives and high-quality customer service.


ii. Recruit, train, supervise, motivate, evaluate, and, when necessary, terminate personnel of the store. Proper documentation must be maintained for all hiring and termination processes.

iii. Maintain product displays in an appealing manner utilizing effective floor layout strategies.

iv. Ensure effective housekeeping practices are upheld.

v. Establish and maintain effective working and safety protocols.

vi. Safeguard the store and its assets at all times.

vii.

In close collaboration with the supervisor of retail operations, enhance sales through attentive and caring service to customers using effective sales techniques.


viii.

Ensure the efficient management of the store to streamline paperwork and optimize workflow.


ix. Maintain open and effective communication with the corporate office.

x. Ensure adequate store supplies while adhering to budget guidelines. (NO UNAUTHORIZED PURCHASES).

xi.

Develop and maintain effective control of all cash transactions ensuring only authorized personnel have access and that cash is accurately accounted for.


xii. Collaborate with the supervisor on promotions to attract new customers and boost sales.

xiii. Provide the supervisor with ongoing sales, marketing, or advertising activities as required.

xiv. Maintain updated price lists of items and services offered in this area.

xv. PREPARE DAILY BANK DEPOSITS ACCURATELY AND IN A TIMELY MANNER.

(ALL DEPOSITS SHOULD BE IN THE BANK NO LATER THAN 10:00 AM).

xvi.

Conduct daily inventory checks and ensure that the results are reported to the appropriate personnel.


xvii.

Ensure that all reports are accurate and up to date, and that the necessary reports are submitted to the corporate office daily.


xviii.

Prepare the work schedule and ensure that all employee time records are accurate and submitted to the corporate office promptly.

xix. Ensure that inventory is managed effectively and that orders are placed in a timely manner according to established procedures. Also, ensure that all deliveries are received and documented according to company policy.

xx. Ensure that all equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition.

xxi. When necessary, repairs should be promptly reported to the office and fully documented when completed.

xxii. Ensure that all retail employees strictly adhere to the company's cash handling policy.

xxiii. Complete all other tasks, assignments, and requests as may be required by the supervisor.

Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. The retail operations leader is directly responsible and accountable to the Supervisor of retail operations.

b. Establish and adhere to the store budget in coordination with the supervisor of retail operations. (NO UNAUTHORIZED PURCHASES) YOUR SUPERVISOR SHOULD BE AWARE OF ANY PAID OUTS.

c.

Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the store, providing effective leadership for all personnel assigned to this position.


d. Supervise the administrative functions of the store area, ensuring the accuracy and timely preparation of all reports.

(REPORTS SHOULD BE DONE & SENT TO THE OFFICE NO LATER THAN 12:00 PM).

e. Responsible for inventory control, maintaining adequate inventory levels, and reporting any discrepancies to the Supervisor or Security immediately.

f.

Responsible for cash management, ensuring that all cash transactions are secure and properly accounted for.

Ensure that bank deposits are accurate and made in a timely manner.

(BANK DEPOSITS TO THE BANK NO LATER THAN 10:00 AM).

g. Responsible for scheduling and ensuring that all hours are covered to provide efficient service to customers.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
a. The ability to ensure that the store operates efficiently and provides maximum service to the customer.

b. The ability to ensure that the store consistently reflects company standards for image and appearance at satisfactory levels.

c.

The ability to maintain cash control and ensure that all cash is accounted for and handled according to established company policy.

This includes the degree to which cash overages and shortages are managed.

d. The ability to ensure that the company's cash handling policy is strictly followed.

e. The degree to which all reports and documentation are prepared accurately and on time.

f. The degree to which inventory is managed effectively.

g. The degree to which theft is minimized.

h. The degree to which labor costs are controlled.

i. The degree of perceived satisfaction of the supervisor.

j. The degree of morale and motivation within the store.

k. The ability to meet and exceed the store's sales targets.
