Position Overview

We are in search of a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader for a direct hire opportunity. This position will operate during the second shift.

In this capacity, you will oversee and coordinate maintenance personnel in the enhancement, repair, and preventive upkeep of all foundry machinery, machining tools, and the facility itself. You will guide Electricians, Maintenance Technicians, and Laborers towards achieving a 100% operational uptime. Your role will also involve supporting manufacturing efforts to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and overall organizational profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute necessary repairs and improvements.
  • Plan and manage all maintenance activities related to equipment and facility upkeep.
  • Direct workforce assignments effectively.
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance for plant equipment issues.
  • Participate in quality, productivity, and scrap reduction committees.
  • Facilitate training and promote ongoing education for staff.
  • Procure parts and services essential for equipment maintenance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production capabilities.
  • Offer technical support to operational teams.
  • Maintain positive labor-management relations to foster workplace harmony.
  • Develop and execute the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Plan, schedule, and complete necessary capital projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for oversight.
  • Advance and uphold SPX leadership standards.
  • Manage inventory for maintenance parts and oversee plant automation and equipment process control systems.
  • Supervise Building and Grounds operations, including Mechanics, Carpenters, and Equipment Operators.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of six years of combined experience in industrial, mechanical, and electrical fields.
  • At least two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Certification in Advanced Hydraulics, Industrial Electricity, Motor Control, and Programmable Logic Controls or equivalent knowledge.
  • Prior experience in a foundry environment with machine tool concepts.
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills.
  • Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels.
