Key Responsibilities:
- Welcoming and guiding patients to examination rooms; preparing for the physician's consultation by gathering initial information and vital signs.
- Reviewing the patient's medical history for relevant information; ensuring accurate maintenance of patient data and demographics.
- Inspecting examination rooms for cleanliness and equipment readiness; ensuring adequate supplies are stocked in rooms and clinic stations.
- Assisting the physician during examinations and procedures.
- Coordinating the scheduling of necessary x-rays, tests, or surgeries.
- Assisting with the removal of staples, sutures, and dressing changes as required.
- Preparing and administering injections as needed.
- Entering data into appropriate systems.
- Providing education to patients and their caregivers regarding specific care as directed by the physician.
- Upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or a Nursing License is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a dynamic healthcare environment is essential.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to effectively engage and communicate with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Records is expected.
- Willingness to travel between all ORA clinics is necessary.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays when required.
