Director of Technology Innovation and User Experience Specialist

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Chesapeake Public Schools as a Director of Technology Innovation and User Experience Specialist. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and visionary direction to transform the school division's technology landscape, fostering a culture of continuous innovation, collaboration, and exceptional user experience throughout the division.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have a Master's degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role within educational technology or a comparable technology-focused environment. You should also have demonstrated success in leading technology transformations and innovations in an educational setting, along with excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the division's strategic technology plan, aligning with overall educational goals and objectives.
- Identify, research, and implement emerging technologies with the potential to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative operations.
- Oversee budget development, allocation, and management to ensure the efficient use of technology resources.
- Lead initiatives to promote and expand equitable access to technology for all students and staff.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for technology initiatives and track progress towards goals.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role within educational technology or a comparable technology-focused environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading technology transformations and innovations in an educational setting.
- Proven project management and budget management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.
- Strong understanding of instructional design principles and the role of technology in supporting student learning.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in education.
Salary: Estimated $120,000 - $150,000 per annum based on industry standards and location.
