Job Function:

The primary objective of the Maintenance Planner is to enhance workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, and materials, tools, and equipment, permissions, specialized documentation, and equipment access.

This role is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in the assigned area.

The planner maintains liaison and coordination between the production and maintenance organizations; maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results of work completed.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Principal contact person between maintenance department and all other plant departments.
2. Responsible for long-range as well as short-range planning.
3. Assists the maintenance supervisor in the implementation of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
4. Maintains all data within CMMS and updates as needed.
5. Receives all work orders and screens to ensure they have been properly written.
6. Assures that work requested is needed.
7. Examines all work requests and determines job scope and best way to accomplish the work.
8. Once a job scope has been planned, acquires all parts, materials, and special tools needed to complete the job.
9. Coordinates all planned work orders with maintenance supervisors and production supervisors.

Attends production meetings to coordinate work order backlog with production supervisors so that all work requiring downtime can be scheduled on a planned conditioning.

Schedules a full day's work for all daily work schedules and planned outages.

Maintains a manageable work order backlog and completes all work orders in CMMS in a timely manner.

Assists in development and implementation of Preventative Maintenance routes and Predictive Maintenance, to include Lubrication routes.

Maintains a list of planned work orders requiring downtime so that some or all can be performed in the event of unscheduled downtime.

Assists maintenance and production management in periodically analyzing costs and, where necessary, recommends corrective action needed to reduce maintenance costs.

Keeps the maintenance supervisor properly informed on all abnormal or critical situations.

Performs other tasks and assignments as requested by the maintenance supervisor.

Develops and maintains a planner reference file or library for all equipment in the assigned area.

Orders all needed items necessary to perform the job function and for completion of all work orders.

Prioritizes all work orders with safety as the top priority.

First Quality team members must follow all First Quality environmental, health, and safety requirements as well as applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.


Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Five+ years industrial maintenance experience required.
3. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems such as MP2, SAP, or EAM.
