Ministerial Role

The principal serves as the visible foundation of the educational institution entrusted to them by the Bishop. This role embodies the mission of Christ within the school community. To achieve this mission, the principal selects qualified collaborators who share in this mission and are assigned various responsibilities.

Positions within the school extend the principal's ministry in specific ways as detailed in the job description. Consequently, the individual in this role is closely linked to and supports the principal in fulfilling their responsibilities, thereby participating in the ministry for the Church.


Position Summary

The Advanced Mathematics Educator is responsible for planning, guiding, and assessing the educational journey of students. This position reports directly to the principal and carries decision-making authority within the established framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.


Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold the principles of Catholic education and the mission of the institution.
  • Serve as a model of Gospel values by exemplifying the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the institution.
  • Design instructional plans with logically sequenced objectives based on the adopted curriculum and submit plans in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide suitable materials and resources to facilitate student engagement in learning.
  • Employ effective instructional strategies and models in line with professional standards.
  • Utilize diverse assessment tools for both formative and summative evaluations.
  • Deliver instruction and assessments aimed at fostering understanding.
  • Maintain accurate and current records as per school policies.
  • Implement positive and consistent discipline strategies in classroom management.
  • Engage in communication with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety matters.
  • Maintain a work schedule that optimizes availability for students, parents, and staff.

  • Understanding of the fundamental teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Familiarity with subjects taught, instructional methodologies, and curriculum differentiation.
  • Insight into child development, learning processes, and behavior.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in the subject area or a related field from an accredited American university or its equivalent from a foreign institution.
  • Experience in upper-level mathematics, including Calculus, Geometry, and Advanced Placement classes.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

Certifications and Training:

  • Must fulfill the minimum teaching field requirements as established by the Diocese and TCCED.
  • Must complete an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance throughout the employment period.
  • Must adhere to staff development guidelines as outlined by the Diocese and school.
  • Must complete Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of hire, completing a minimum of 25 hours each year.
